Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2011-2012 Women’s Campaign – Honey Replica Handbags – Brands Designers Handbags And New Products

Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2011-2012 women’s campaign, photographed by Steven Meisel, channels 1940s bourgeoisie. Stunning young models relax in the back seat of vintage cars lined in sleek black leather. Stylist Karl Templer accessorized the women with leather gloves, bellhop hats, head bands and crocodile purses.

In addition they wore animal skin jackets with oversized covered black patent leather buttons. The mix of different furs and animal skins in rich reds, purples, grays and greens turn the vintage look into a modern French take on the young haute models. Like true little rich girls, they tote tiny black and white puppies to match the personality of the line. Headbands made of crystallized masks echo the feel of the line, as a masquerade ball should be in the near future.

Already carried by stars including Lily Donaldson, Kate Bosworth, Kirsten Dunst and Emma Watson, the Carter is the season’s understated must-have.

“I’m so thrilled with Carter,” Mulberry creative director Emma Hill told us. “It’s a new family and it’s very much Mulberry-girl-grows-up. The autumn/winter 2011 season is a twist on the classically English countryside, and Carter is just the kind of bag that you can take from town to a country-house weekend.”

In several sizes and colours, and featuring a classic chain handle, the Carter’s subtle double lock detailing – which Hill explains comes straight from Mulberry’s archives – will no doubt soon become as cult as the Alexa has.

Entertaining scenes in a New York courtroom on Friday where squabbling fashion houses Christian Louboutin and Yves Saint Laurent met to argue the former’s allegations that the latter infringed their Red Sole trademark for their 2011 cruise collection.

Women’s Wear Daily reported from the courtroom that ‘red pumps and sandals were strewn everywhere’ with presiding judge, Victor Marrero, even lightening the mood at one point by exclaiming “Nice shoes!” with a smile.

Yves Saint Laurent’s lawyer, David Bernstein, argued that his client had been using red as a signature colour since the fashion house was founded in 1962 and that even King Louis XIV of France and Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz had red-soled shoes. He went on to question whether......

Rihanna Talks Madonna’s Inspiration, Lady Gaga’s Fashion – Honey Replica Handbags – Brands Designers Handbags And New Products

Rihanna has gone on record to say that Madonna is the pop star who inspired her the most. RiRi told We Love Pop (via DigitalSpy) that Madge’s evolution, in terms of her style and her music, impacted her.

“If I had to examine her evolution through time, I think she reinvented her clothing style and music with success every single time,” Rihanna spilled. “And at the same time remained a real force in entertainment in the whole world.”

As for her own style evolution, Rihanna, 23, said that likes to evolve and grow, and refuses to stick to one style for too long so that she never gets stale. She admitted that she is over her ‘Rated R’ period, saying that “even though it was very successful for me … It was tough because I was forced to maintain a certain image for so long and now I just want to get out of that.”

Sexy Librarian? Getting My Chanel on with LensCrafters – Honey Replica Handbags – Brands Designers Handbags And New Products

My style has always skewed a bit more minimal or Seventies inspired, but no one’s ever accused me of trying to rock the sexy librarian look often channelled on the runways of Prada and Marc Jacobs. Ever since I got some sweet 70s serial killer meets aforementioned sexy librarian Chanel glasses from Lens Crafters, I suddenly want to get a little more ladylike, and possibly start shushing people, maybe?

The eyeglass emporium you may think of as your run of the mill mall store has some high fashion eyewear on their roster – including the aforementioned Chanel, Tom Ford and Dolce & Gabbana, just to name a few. Len Crafters invited some fashion peeps to try out their new, very high tech AccuFit Digital system, which basically puts that archaic practice of putting a Sharpie dot over where your prescription should go on your lenses to shame. The new system also takes photos of you in different frames from multiple angles – which is perfect for those seriously visually impaired ones among us – and just kind of fun for the rest of us.

Vela Scarves Blends Western Fashion With Islamic Tradition – Honey Replica Handbags – Brands Designers Handbags And New Products

“Victorian Lace,” “Black Ruffle Prima Ballerina” and “Cat’s Meow” are names of the top-selling products at Vela Scarves, a Fountain Valley-based online fashion company that produces high quality hijabs, or headscarves, for Muslim women.

“Vela is a company that takes occurring fashion trends and applies it to the headscarf while maintaining the Islamic standards of modesty,” explained Marwa Atik, the designer and co-founder of the company.

Vela, derived from the Latin word for “veil,” was established in the fall of 2009 when Atik and some of her friends created a fan page for the company and began posting the scarves on Facebook.

With more orders coming in than the college students could handle, Marwa sat down with her sister, Tasneem, to create a real business plan for the company. Since then, Vela has been registered as an official LLC, hired a manufacturer to create the scarves and produces an average of 200 headscarves per month. They even receive international orders from Singapore, Malaysia, Germany, Turkey and South Africa, to name a few countries.

“This is just something that fell into my lap,” explained Atik. “I didn’t know how big Vela was going to be until I received so much positive feedback from girls who are very fashionable but are having a hard time practicing the hijab properly.”

Luxe is back for good…and profit – Honey Replica Handbags – Brands Designers Handbags And New Products

Luxury is back on fashion as predicted in a May report by Bain & Company. The document advanced that global luxury goods sales would increase 8 percent in 2011 in part because of renewed demand in the U.S., where department store sales are increasing and Europe, where tourism is strong (Bain expected the large Japanese luxury goods markets to recover soon from the effects of its recent earthquake).

Also, a Northeastern American University report showed earlier this year, many affluent Americans sidestepped the recent recession and, according to David Arnold, publisher of the luxury magazine Robb Report, the wealthy are no longer as embarrassed about flaunting their wealth as they were in 2009.

The Bain report also cited continuing growth in emerging markets like China, Russia, Brazil, and the Middle East. The Chinese market “skews very young (the average Chinese luxury consumer is around 30, whereas the average western luxury consumer is around 55),” the paper explains. “Thus, what happens there often affects what will happen in older (i.e. European and American) markets later.”

Fashion — in 3D – Honey Replica Handbags – Brands Designers Handbags And New Products

I’ll be the first to admit that I have a bad shopping habit. You don’t even want to see my shoe collection. Luckily, I don’t have too bad of a sunglasses problem — yet.

But now there’s a new fashion trend emerging that involves wearing your sunglasses — in the dark.

Yep, it’s apparently no longer cool to wear those bulky, and let’s be honest ugly, 3-D glasses at the movies.

Designers, such as Calvin Klein and Oakley, are partnering with engineers to create fashionable glasses to wear inside and outside the theater. You wear them from the street to the theater. No muss, no fuss.

But they go for about $180 a pop. You’ve got to admit it’s creative, no?

Handbags Inspired from the 1950′s to 1980′s – Honey Replica Handbags – Brands Designers Handbags And New Products

It is not rare for a designer to take inspiration from past eras, and there are many handbag designers whose bags showcase a vintage inspiration with a modern twist. We’ve compiled a list of today’s handbags that share features with handbags from the past. Do these spark any memories?

1950′s: Bags of the 1950′s symbolized femininity by putting great emphasis on a ladylike and delicate appearance. This shoulder bag by Prada is definitely reminiscent of the 1950′s with its classic leather material and rectangular shape. What makes this bag more modern? The snap closure instead of a metal framed clasp.

1960′s: Floral prints were no stranger to the 1960′s, and this Riki Rosetta Alexandra clutch utilizes the floral effect in a unique way. Rather than having in-your-face floral patterns featured on the handbag, this clutch gives you the elegance of a handheld bag with the inspiration of the 60′s. Great for formal events at night or a lunch date with your girlfriends during the day, this will be your go-to clutch!

Hip-Hop–Loving Fashion Writer Marcus Holmlund’s Vintage Den – Honey Replica Handbags – Brands Designers Handbags And New Products

New York City has more stores than anyone could physically tackle, but somehow we always keep returning to the usual suspects. To break out of the rut, we've asked some local shopping and fashion gurus to provide their hidden retail gems—those unique stores around our fantastic city that we might not all know about. Cue the Beatles: We're about to get a little help from our friends.

A good friend of mine introduced me to The New World Order when she got a job there during our days at Parsons. In my opinion, it is, to this day, by far the best curated vintage designer shop in the city due to the fact that it's owned by stylist Renee Bejil, who has similar taste to mine and has the hookup with many a Parisian fashion house. I got an incredible sheer ruffled button-down from Hedi Slimane's second last season at Dior Homme along with a couple of crazy retro caftans by lesser-known, hard-to-find 70's designers. I suppose the secret's out!

European Luxury Brands Expand – Honey Replica Handbags – Brands Designers Handbags And New Products

Just about all the big European luxury brands, including LVMH Group (Louis Vuitton), Dior SA, Burberry Group Plc and Celine SA, have raised their prices by between 5 and 15% on average in 1-H of this year.

The depreciation of the Euro is one of the main reasons for these increases, according to a recent report released by the World Luxury Association (WLA), an International nonprofit organization that specializes in market research and the management of luxury brands.

European Luxury Brands Expand
Between the beginning of Y 2010 and the end of May this year, the Euro has depreciated by 20% against the Yuan.

The Hour’s take on 50s fashion – Honey Replica Handbags – Brands Designers Handbags And New Products

The title of The Hour, the new BBC drama set in the 1950s, refers to the TV programme around which it revolves. But the name resonates more widely. It seems there is something about a TV drama set in an office in the late 1950s and 1960s that exerts a primal pull on 21st-century viewers. The Hour is being called The British Mad Men, not because the style of drama is similar (it isn’t – where Mad Men is slick and seamless, The Hour is quirky and offbeat) but because of the analogy of setting and period. Mad Men opens in a Manhattan advertising agency in 1960; The Hour in the BBC in 1956. There are lowlit corridors, midcentury mid-brown desks, old-school telephones, clacking typewriters and half-glassed office doors.

The Hour is about a particular moment we keep coming back to. Something about the look and feel of this moment in history speaks very powerfully to modern audiences – and the clothes, in particular, have a very direct allure. Odd, really, that women should be drawn to the office wardrobe of a time when being a “career woman” was such a tough path to follow, but there you go. At some point over the past decade, the aesthetic of the 50s office has overlaid that of the glass-ceiling-smashing 80s as our touchstone for office chic.

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Designers are showing their 2012 swimwear collection in Miami Beach.

The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2012 runs through Monday. Nearly two dozen runway shows will showcase the latest trends in swimwear.

Designers include Leah Madden, Paola Robba, Mara Hoffman, Norma Kamali, Benny Rosset and Lisa Burke.

The Miami Herald reports that a Friday night show at The Setai was about trying to save the planet - one itty-bitty bikini at a time.

A group of "eco-couture" designers are crafting "sustainable" swimwear out of fabrics made from wood pulp, hemp and bamboo or from recycled plastic bottles, "upcycled" factory scraps of cotton and nylon and "repurposed" material like military parachutes.

Eco-couture reflects a lifestyle choice and should appeal to women who, for instance, buy organic food and products. Loudermilk said it's an ethic that emphasizes health and balanced, sustainable living, not a return to the hippie era, when the clunky Birkenstock sandal defined environmental fashion.

Model Kat Hessen is definitely one to keep an eye out for… This 20 year old who calls Harstad, Norway home was scouted by an agent in London on a school trip. When approached, Kat thought she was actually being fooled. But make no joke, since her discovery Kat has walked in a slew of campaigns. Most recently she debuted on New York Fashion Week runways for Rodarte, Marc Jacobs, and Alexander Wang, while also starring as the face of the most recent Marc Jacobs campaign.

So what would Kat be doing if she wasn’t a modeling success? According to an interview with The Cut, she would “Backpack the world alone, do yoga on the top of remote mountains somewhere in Bhutan with my bearded guru, search for the holy grail in various shady pubs, ect., ect. Why? ‘Cause that’s what all the hip kids would do.” Whoa, sounds awesome! Known for her interesting face, Kat is not just another gap-toothed model…but a vegetarian who loves reading and whose favorite author is John Steinbeck. NBC has agreed to pay as much as $1 million for Paris Hilton's first after-jail interview, which will appear on the "Today" show, The Post has learned. Sources told The Post the sit-down will be conducted by Meredith Vieira the day after the heir-head is sprung some time next week. The deal has infuriated ABC executives, the sources said, because they were banking on Hilton's first remarks as a free woman going to Barbara Walters, who has become close with Hilton's mom, Kathy. ABC was the front-runner until NBC Universal boss Jeff Zucker personally called Hilton's father Rick and made the pitch, the sources said. Hilton agreed to the interview, but said she'd only speak with Vieira because of "disparaging" remarks her co-host Matt Lauer made about her. A spokeswoman for NBC did not return a call for comment.

Luxury fashion brands still selling to the well heeled: business is fine despite consumer sentiment hitting new lows – Honey Replica Handbags – Brands Designers Handbags And New Products

Louis Vuitton chief executive Philip Corne said business was fine despite consumer sentiment hitting new lows this week.

“The general retail conditions may be difficult but our business has been quite OK,” Mr Corne said.

“Globally, parent company LVMH has recorded our best results for 2009 and 2010.

“Consumers are happy to spend on the brands they trust and we are seeing a flight to quality and service.”

He said that LV was an aspirational brand and a large part of its business came from working women who had saved enough to treat themselves to a handbag.

'Cosmopolitan Shoes' Manager Bianca Ghosn fits a pair of designer shoes on a Tracy Nehme
“Mainstream luxury brands have not seen the same depth of conservatism that has affected other retailers,” he said.

“We invest for the long term and stick to our strategy and do not compromise on quality and service.”

Carl F. Bucherer Launches Manero AutoDate – Honey Replica Handbags – Brands Designers Handbags And New Products

New York, New York – Reported by Elite Traveler, the private jet lifestyle magazine

With the Manero AutoDate, Carl F. Bucherer launches another classic timepiece. This three-hand watch in “vintage” style fits harmoniously into the understatedly elegant yet authentic Manero range from the Lucerne-based watch Manufacture.

1960s design succeeded in establishing important trends in the fashion world, creating forms with lasting appeal. Back then, the simple classical style of three-hand watches with smaller dials set new standards which remain hugely important for the design of today’s timepieces.

A striking example of the revival of the design features of this period is to be found in the Manero AutoDate from Carl F. Bucherer. The classic, unfussy design emphasizes the functionality of the timepiece, which shows the essentials at a glance: the current time, and the date at 3 o’clock. The watch has a diameter of 38 mm and incorporates the CFB 1965 automatic movement.

A classic framework for the clearly structured dial is provided by the 18 K rose gold or stainless steel case in a visually simple style. The finishing touches of the Manero AutoDate are provided by design elements that are characteristic of the Manero range. In addition to the striking Dauphine hands, the dial has gold-colored wedge-shaped index marks. The final aesthetic touch, in “retro” style, is the high-quality 18 K rose gold bracelet, or Louisiana alligator leather strap available in brown or black.

The Manero AutoDate is for those who prefer a watch with a simple classic elegance but still want a mechanical interior.

Every person who aspires to lead a cultured life should start by educating themselves about the personalities and events that have shaped the luxury industry.

Here are 10 books that taught me a lot. They’re each well-written and give real insight on the history and current state of luxury from a business or artistic perspective.

This isn’t an exhaustive list, but it’ll lend ample ammo to beginning an intelligent discussion.

, Axel Madsen – Madsen’s take on Gabrielle Chanel’s life has been criticized for failing to fully capture her French spirit, but as a non-obsessive Chanel fan (I love her, of course, but I don’t count myself among the members of her cult) I found it intriguing.Anyway that critique is to be expected from readers looking for a more laudatory tale.

Olsen Twins Launch their New Handbag Line at Barneys – Honey Replica Handbags – Brands Designers Handbags And New Products

Adding to their $1 billion in retail sales a year, the Olsens are bringing in handbags to their fashion fashion collection. Although these pieces will not be available until August, earlier this week, their designs were shown on Barneys website and premiered nine types of handbags: from totes, backpacks, and laptop bags, the materials range from calf leathers and exotics.

Don’t take my word for how amazing these bags already sound; Barneys describe the bags as “sleek and sophisticated, blending old-world glamor with contemporary chic.” This style has been the way The Row has been come to be defined. As such icons of fashion, they’ve also launched their own T-shirt website, StyleMint.com, where not only do they allow their shoppers to create pieces based on their own style, but also provide personal fashion advice. The shirts are designed by the Olsens and they send their fans a new one for $29.99 per month.

I swapped out my heels for some flats by dinner time, but I will say it was such a mistake to wear heels when running after Mason all day! That is a mommy fashion no no.

Mason is wearing Ralph Lauren shorts and shirt with Janie and Jack loafers.

I am wearing a Bec & Bridge romper, Pencey blazer, Christian Louboutin heels (that I should know not to wear when with Mason by now), Hermes bangle, Tom Ford sunglasses and Hermes birkin bag.

Shades of John Lennon, or a Professor

Lennon gave the hat – along with a toy gun – to his uncle Charlie Lennon, who was a great fan of western films. Uncle Charlie passed them on to Larry Warren, an American who lives in the Beatles' home city of Liverpool.

Warren said: "I knew Charlie Lennon well and I bought these items from him. He didn't want to take any money for them but I insisted.

"I have helped conserve other items concerned with the Beatles, including parts of the church hall where Lennon first met Paul McCartney.

"The cowboy hat was something that Lennon had on the US tour in 1965 – I think they all had one. He gave it to his uncle in about 1967 along with a toy six-shooter gun because his uncle loved western films. But the hat was too big for his uncle and that amused Lennon."

Also up for sale is a pair of black Italian sunglasses owned by Lennon in 1967 that may go for up to £4,000.

Lennon passed the sunglasses to his uncle when Charlie visited the singer's mansion in Weybridge, Surrey, on a sunny day.

Warren said: "He gave the sunglasses to his uncle at his home in Surrey in about 1967. He had a swimming pool there and they'd been out in the sun.

"Charlie authenticated both items and I've had them for 10 years. Charlie died some years ago so it is time to move them on."

Beatles memorabilia, especially items connected with Lennon, who was shot dead in New York in 1980 aged 40, are hugely popular with collectors and Beatles fans.

Glen Norcliffe, of the Berkshire-based auctioneers Cameo, said: "These are wonderful items that belonged to John Lennon when he was at the height of his career.
